# Block Performance Analytics

> How to read the Block Performance analytics in Iconic Blocks — block views, blocks with traffic, the block trending chart, and the per-block breakdown table — and what is included on the Free plan versus the Pro plan.

## What Is Block Performance Analytics?

Block Performance is the analytics dashboard inside Iconic Blocks that shows how your blocks are actually performing on your live storefront. Instead of guessing whether a block is helping or just taking up space, you can see real counted events — how often each block is seen, how that is trending over time, and how it affects add-to-cart behavior.

All numbers shown here are measured directly on your storefront. These are **counted events, not predictions or estimates**.

## Where to Find It

Open the **Iconic Blocks** app from your Shopify admin and go to the **Analytics** tab. Use the date range selector to change the reporting window — the page compares the selected period against the period immediately before it (for example, *Today vs. the period before it*).

The page has three sections: the top-level stat cards (Free), a block trending chart (Pro), and a per-block breakdown table (Pro).

## Top-Level Stat Cards (Free)

**Block Views** The number of pages where at least one Iconic Blocks block rendered during the selected period, with the percentage change versus the prior period (for example, *8, +33.3%*). This tells you how much of your product page traffic is actually encountering your blocks.

**Blocks with Traffic** The number of distinct blocks that received at least one view during the selected period, shown with the change versus the prior period (for example, *5 (+4)*). This tells you how many of the blocks you have configured are actually live and being seen by shoppers — useful for catching a block that was added to a template but never actually appears (for example, because it was placed on a template with no traffic, or hidden by a theme conflict).

**Add to Cart Rate** The overall percentage of shoppers who saw at least one block and then clicked Add to Cart on that product page, across all your blocks combined for the selected period. This card only appears once there is at least one add-to-cart event recorded in the period — if no add-to-cart data is available yet, the card is not shown rather than displaying a zero or empty value.

These cards are visible on every plan, including Free.

## Which Blocks Are Trending (Pro)

<Note>
  **Pro plan feature.** The trending chart and the per-block breakdown table below it are available on the [Pro plan](/plans-billing/pricing-and-plans). Free plan stores see only the stat cards above.
</Note>

The **Which blocks are trending** chart compares each block's views in the selected period against its views in the period right before it, and shows the result as a horizontal bar:

* The scale runs from **-100%** on the left, through **no change** in the middle, to **+100%** on the right

* A block with more views this period than last period shows a bar extending to the right, with the percentage increase labeled in green (for example, *+100.0%*)

* A block with fewer views this period shows a bar extending to the left, labeled with the percentage decrease

* A block with no prior period to compare against (for example, a block added for the first time this period) shows as **fully up** — a full bar at +100%, since there is nothing to measure a decline against

This view is based on **views** by default — it answers "is this block being seen more or less than before?" A separate, add-to-cart-based read of the same question is also tracked: rather than just counting views, it compares the add-to-cart rate on product pages **where the block is present** against the add-to-cart rate on product pages **where that same block is not present**. The difference between those two rates is the block's add-to-cart impact — a positive point means shoppers who saw the block added to cart more often than shoppers on pages without it; a negative point means the opposite.

## Per-Block Breakdown Table (Pro)

Below the trending chart, the table lists every block individually for the selected period, with these columns:

* **Block** — the block's icon and name, including its instance number if you have more than one of the same block configured (for example, *Countdown timer #1*)

* **Applied to** — the specific product this block instance is scoped to, if it has been restricted using [Product-Specific Block Visibility](/analytics/product-block-visibility); shown as a dash (*—*) if the block applies to its full product template rather than a single product

* **Views** — how many times that specific block was seen by a shopper in the selected period

* **Previous period** — the same view count for the period immediately before the selected one, for direct comparison

* **vs. previous period** — the percentage change between the two periods, color-coded the same way as the trending chart above

## How to Use This Data

* **Identify your highest-performing blocks** — blocks trending upward in both views and add-to-cart impact are strong candidates to feature more prominently or replicate on other product templates

* **Find blocks with traffic but low impact** — a block with strong view growth but flat or negative add-to-cart impact may need a copy, placement, or design change rather than removal

* **Catch misconfigured blocks** — if a block you expect to see traffic shows zero views, check that it is actually saved on the relevant product template (see [General Troubleshooting](/troubleshooting-faqs/general-troubleshooting))

* **Validate placement changes** — after moving a block to a new position (see [How Blocks Work Together](/conversion-strategy/how-blocks-work-together)), compare its trend and add-to-cart impact in the following reporting period against its prior performance
