Shopify agencies and theme developers You are building or optimizing stores for clients. Iconic Blocks gives you a reliable no-code toolkit to implement CRO best practices on any product page without custom development work.

CRO-focused teams and growth marketers You understand that conversion rate improvements compound. Iconic Blocks gives you the building blocks to test placement, messaging, and trust elements on product pages without requiring engineering support.

Before You Start

Make sure the following is in place before adding blocks:

If you haven’t installed Iconic Blocks yet: In your Shopify admin, go to Apps and select Shopify App Store, search for Iconic Blocks, then click Install and approve the requested permissions.

  • Your Shopify store is on an active plan that supports apps

  • Your theme is an Online Store 2.0 theme

  • You have at least one product template in the Theme Editor

  • Iconic Blocks is installed from the Shopify App Store

  • The app has been granted the required permissions during installation

Enable the Iconic Blocks App Embed

Before any block will appear on your live product pages, you need to enable the Iconic Blocks app embed in your Theme Editor. This is a one-time step per theme and is the most commonly missed part of the setup process. Blocks can be added and configured in the Theme Editor without this step — but they will not display to shoppers on the live store until the app embed is turned on.

To enable it:

  1. Go to Online Store → Themes in your Shopify admin

  2. Click Customize on your active theme

  3. Click the App Embeds icon in the left sidebar — the puzzle piece icon at the bottom of the sidebar navigation

  4. Find Iconic Blocks in the list

  5. Toggle it on

  6. Click Save

Once saved, you are ready to start adding blocks to your product templates.

Note: If you switch themes or update your theme in the future, you will need to re-enable this toggle in the new or updated theme.

Check Theme Compatibility

Iconic Blocks requires an Online Store 2.0 theme. Most themes released after 2021 support this, including Dawn, Sense, Refresh, Crave, and the majority of premium themes from the Shopify Theme Store.

To confirm your theme is compatible:

  1. Go to Online Store → Themes in your Shopify admin

  2. Click Customize on your active theme

  3. In the top center dropdown, select a product template

  4. Look at the block list in the left sidebar

  5. If you see an Apps section — your theme is compatible

If you do not see an Apps section, your theme does not support app blocks. In this case, contact your theme developer or consider switching to an Online Store 2.0 theme.

How to Add Your First Block

  1. Go to Online Store → Themes in your Shopify admin

  2. Click Customize on your active theme

  3. Using the top center dropdown, navigate to a product template (e.g. Default product)

  4. In the left sidebar, scroll to the product content area and click Add block

  5. Under the Apps section, select Iconic Blocks

  6. Choose the block you want to add

  7. Configure the block settings in the right sidebar

  8. Drag the block to your preferred position in the left sidebar layout

  9. Click Save

The block is now live on your product page.

Troubleshooting: Block Not Showing

  • You don’t see an Apps section in the left sidebar: Your theme/template does not support app blocks. Confirm you are editing a product template (top-center dropdown). If there is still no Apps section, switch to an Online Store 2.0 theme or contact your theme developer.

  • You see the Apps section but not “Iconic Blocks”: Confirm the app is installed in Shopify admin under Apps. Then reload the Theme Editor and try again. If it still does not appear, ensure you’re in a product template (not the home page or cart template).

  • The block appears in the editor but not on the storefront: Click Save, then open the product page in a new incognito/private window to rule out caching. Also confirm you added the block to the correct product template (the product you’re viewing must use that template).

Where to Start

Do not add every block at once. Start with the one that addresses your biggest current gap.

If shoppers do not trust your store yet → Start with Trust Badges or Payment Icons

If shoppers ask about shipping before buying → Start with Shipping Information

If you have a discount running but conversions are low → Start with Discount Code

If your product benefits are not clear at a glance → Start with Benefits

If you have low stock and want to create urgency → Start with Stock Indicator

If your product needs to be seen in action → Start with Videos

If you sell variants or multiple looks → Start with Circle Image Menu

Add one block, position it well, and observe the impact before adding more.
